Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 experiments the ability to screen record a specific app

Screen recording comes in handy when you have to explain something to someone, be it for personal use or uploading it to YouTube. The default behavior of any screen recording app on Android is that when you hit the screen record button, it records the entire screen. Meaning that even though you exit the app, the recording continues.
Well, Google has a feature up its sleeve that it showcased with the latest Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update. As reported by 9To5Google, there is a new experimental UI that lets you select a single or specific app to be recorded. This will prevent the screen recorder from recording the entire screen, which often records the contents such as any incoming notifications, apps on your phone, and more.
The example shows the feed containing a few of the recent apps that you can select to quickly screen record. The sheet is similar to Android’s share sheet. A larger list of apps appears when you expand the feed, allowing you to select any app of your choice to screen record. The Android 13 QPR 2 Beta 2 screen record feed has the title ‘Share or record an app.’
This new screen record feature showcased in the latest Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update certainly brings more privacy when someone is screen recording their smartphone’s screen. Folks at 9To5Google believe that this will have the same design for the casting feature. If that is the case, then it will elevate privacy when casting as well.
