Chinese cybersecurity company 360 announced it will launch its own ChatGPT-like artificial intelligence (AI) app just hours after a similar announcement by Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Chinese’ Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU), which in turn followed in the footsteps of Google and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT).

The firm, based in Beijing and popular in China for its browsers and antivirus, added to the fever for conversational AI by announcing that it intends to launch a ‘demo’ as soon as possible, something that caused its actions in the Shanghai Stock Exchange were revalued yesterday by 10%, the maximum limit of daily variation.

360 titles, also known as Qihoo (NYSE:QIHU), are up almost 31% so far this year.

According to the Yicai economic news portal, the company has long invested in AI-generated content technology, but its system is still solely for internal use and is far from the level of the popular ChatGPT 3, launched in November by the American OpenAI, which attracted an investment of 10,000 million dollars by Microsoft.

Baidu, 360’s rival in China’s search engine industry, confirmed yesterday that it plans to launch its ‘ERNIE Bot’ in March, just one day after Google submitted its response to ChatGPT, dubbed Bard.
