BYD, an all-EV car manufacturer in India, has reached a milestone in the electric vehicle market with its Seal EV. The BYD Seal high performance electric sedan has gathered an impressive 500 bookings within just 15 days since its launch on March 5, 2024.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of the Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, expressed,

We are confident in our product and pricing and are pleased to see the response it has generated in the market. We did hit the 200 bookings mark soon after launch, and within 15 days, we had registered 500 bookings.

The BYD Seal is offered in three variants: dynamic, premium, and performance, each catering to different customer preferences. With prices starting at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom), the Seal boasts an enticing blend of features and performance.

Customers have the option to choose between single- and dual-motor configurations based on their driving needs and preferences. The base Dynamic variant is equipped with a 61.44 kWh battery pack, powers a 201 BHP electric motor, and offers a driving range of 510 km.

Stepping up, the Premium variant boasts an 82.56 kWh battery pack, delivering an extended range of 650 km. Paired with a 308 BHP electric motor, this variant promises excellent performance combined with enhanced efficiency.

This variant boasts a 0-100 km acceleration time of just 3.8 seconds, prioritizing power over range. The Performance variant delivers a driving range of around 580 km. With DC fast charging support up to 150 kW, the BYD Seal can be charged from 10-80% in a mere 37 minutes, making it a suitable choice for long journeys.
