Carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy Note 20 getting May 2022 security update in the US

Three weeks ago, the carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra received the May 2022 security update. One week later, the international models of the phones started getting the update. Now, the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 have started getting the security update.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has been released with firmware version N981USQS2FVE6. The update is currently available on Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s networks in the US. More carriers could release the update within a few days. The May 2022 security patch brings fixes for dozens of known privacy and security vulnerabilities.

If you are a Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone user with a carrier-locked model in the US, you can now download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note 20 in the second half of 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. The company released the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update a few months ago.
