Complex Celebrates Gemini Season With Playlist f/ Kendrick Lamar & More

0 79

Complex is commemorating the launch of Gemini season with a new playlist featuring nearly two hours of music from a number of preeminent Geminis.

The playlist—available in full below—begins with back-to-back cuts from Lauryn Hill’s 1998 classic The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The audio journey then takes listeners through selections from Kendrick Lamar (including entries from his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers), the artist formerly known as Kanye West (whose Donda era track “Life of the Party” saw him linking with fellow Gemini André 3000), The Notorious B.I.G., Prince, and more.

Kendrick’s double album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, released this month, will soon be taken on the road with the recently announced Big Steppers Tour featuring support from Baby Keem and Tanna Leone. The 2022 dates begin on July 19 in Oklahoma City and wrap on Dec. 16 in Auckland.

Meanwhile, a video for the track “N95”—which is featured on the new Complex playlist—was recently unveiled. It was co-directed by Dave Free and Kendrick, whose history of collaborative visuals is extensive and also includes the album-preceding “The Heart Part 5.” Upon the latter’s release, Complex shared a breakdown of some of the symbolism included in the video. Revisit that here.
