Won’t be better than my fan fiction

Now that the stellar anime series Edgerunners has seemingly made everyone forget the disaster that was the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, the merchandising machine can move back into full gear — Presented for your consideration: An original novel set within CDPR’s hi-tech universe, which will release in 2023.

The novel “No Coincidence” is not a direct adaptation of its source material’s narrative, but will instead be a standalone story from the avenues and alleyways of Night City. Penned by Polish author Rafał Kosik, the book will no doubt contain the sleazy customers, upmarket locales, and dangerous dealings of the gorgeous-looking, but ultimately extremely dangerous ‘berg.

The Cyberpunk 2077 team has also confirmed that No Coincidence is a full novel, not a comic book.

No doubt the literary adventures of Cyberpunk 2077‘s metal mickeys and minnies will help plug the gap while players wait for DLC expansion Phantom Liberty, which is also currently scheduled for launch at some point in 2023. Earlier this month, CD Projekt RED confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be receiving a sequel at some point in the far-flung future. So while it might have had something of a rough start, it seems that CDPR is hoping to get its slippery new franchise back on stable rails.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms.
