Their Nexon EV has been the best-selling electric SUV in its segment and it is now a commonly spotted car on our roads. Tata Motors has now hit a milestone, they recently rolled out the 50,000th unit of EV from the factory. The 50,000th unit was a Nexon EV and it was delivered to none other than Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons & Tata Motors. This is Chandrasekaran’s second Nexon EV. In 2020, when Tata launched Nexon, he got himself a Nexon EV.

Tata Motors has been a leading car manufacturer in the country and when it comes to electric cars, they have the advantage. They are the best-selling electric car brand in the country. Many mainstream manufacturers don’t even have a single electric product and Tata over the years has managed to launch 3 products in the electric vehicle segment. Tata definitely has the first-mover advantage. N Chandrasekaran had bought the Nexon EV in 2020 and it looks like he liked the car so much that he decided to himself one more. Tata has shared the images of Mr. Chandrasekaran taking delivery of his Nexon EV on their Instagram profile.

The post said, “It gives us immense pride as we deliver our 50,000th EV, a Tata Nexon EV, to Mr. N Chandrasekaran – the Chairman of Tata Group. What started as his vision, has changed the way India perceives mobility. And it was only fitting to have this very special person be the owner of a milestone car – the 50,000th TATA EV. This was indeed a special delivery for each one of us at Tata Motors. Here’s to many electrifying miles that lie ahead.”

From the pictures, it looks like Mr. Chandrasekaran had once again got the Nexon EV Prime. Nexon EV Prime gets the same design as the regular EV version. It however gets more features than before. Tata is now offering features like multi-mode regen, and cruise control with the EV Prime. It comes with same old sleek-looking headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, low-resistance tyres, and so on. Tata is offering features like multi function steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment screen, semi-digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents and so on. Tata even offers Nexon EV in Dark and Jet Editions.

Tata also has a long range variant of Nexon EV in the market and that is called Nexon EV Max. The EV Prime is powered by a 30.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. It is connected to an electric motor that generates 129 Ps and 245 Nm of peak torque. The EV Prime is actually rebadged Nexon EV with additional features. Nexon rolled out these features earlier this year and mentioned that these features are available for older Nexon EV owners too. The Nexon EV has a certified driving range of 312 km on a single charge. The Nexon EV Prime is another variant that Tata offers. It is powered by a 40.5 kWh batter pack. This variant generates 141 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque.
