Eva Shaw Taps Pressa and Thouxanbanfauni on “EASTERISLAND”

0 105

Ahead of her album SOLO dropping June 17, Toronto producer Eva Shaw has shared its final single, “EASTERISLAND.”

Featuring fellow Torontonian Pressa and Thouxanbanfauni, the track shows off Shaw’s signature production style, beginning and ending with her iconic tagline “Eva Shaw on the DAW.”

The pairing of Pressa and Thouxanbanfauni is on point, going back and forth from bars like “You’d think we in the Easter Islands the way that I be ahead,” and “Still the same old leech/ Sucking out your life he take advantage of the sheep.”

“Easter Island” follows “Outside” featuring Jazz Cartier and Kris the $pirit. Shaw told us a bit about her beat-making process around the time of its release. “I am inspired by unique approaches to art. I’m always looking to do something different and I think that stems from having such a wide range of tastes. The quality of the sounds and engineering of a record is really important to me. It needs to fill the space and make you feel some type of way in the beat,” she explained. “I like to use elements of EDM in hip-hop to create a new, futuristic approach.”
