Maruti Suzuki has introduced the all-new Alto K10 in the Indian market. The new car is based on the HEARTECT platform and will sell along the Alto 800. The all-new Alto K10 looks substantially different from before and offers features that were never available with the car before. It gets a large honeycomb grille at the front. The position of the grille is lower than before. The headlamp units are also new. Seen full front on, the large grille and headlamp shape of the new Alto K1 might remind our older readers of the cute little A-Star of yesteryears.
Even the rear of the car has changed substantially. The tail lamps are square in shape. The overall length of the car has increased and the wheelbase is now longer than before. The sides look very Maruti like, and you might find traces of the Celerio or the earlier gen Alto in the design. Overall, without overdone drama, the car looks fresh and neat.
The new price of the new Alto K10 starts at Rs 3.9 lakh while the top-end variant is priced at Rs 5.83 lakh, ex-showroom. On road, the top-end version would cost you just above Rs 6 lakhs.
The new Alto K10 gets only one engine option. The three-cylinder 1.0-litre DualJet engine produces a maximum power of 66.62 PS of maximum power and 89 Nm of peak torque. It returns a maximum fuel efficiency of 24.90 with the AGS and 24.39 km/l with the manual transmission.
The all-black cabin gets a layered dashboard design. It now also offers a touchscreen for the first time.
The 7.0-inch SmartPlay screen offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, which is another first for an Alto.
Maruti Suzuki now offers four speakers on all four doors. It allows for a surround sound experience.
Two airbags are standard across all the variants of the new Alto K10.
The instrument cluster of the new Alto has been updated too. It is now an all-digital instrument cluster.
The Alto K10 will be available with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT or AGS transmission. There are two variants that offer AMT as an option.
The all-new Alto K10 now offers a larger cabin with more leg space for the rear passengers.
Maruti Suzuki also offers rear parking sensors as standard with the new Alto K10.
The all-new Alto K10 is available in seven different variant options including Standard, LXi, LXi(O), VXi, VXi(O), VX+ and VXi+(O).
