First walkaround video of new variant

The Mahindra Scorpio has remained one of the most iconic SUVs in the country, and despite the launch of the newest Scorpio-N model, the company did not discontinue the old one. Instead, Mahindra renamed the old car as the Scorpio Classic and is selling it in India in two variants, namely the S and S11. Recently, a new variant called the S5 was spotted in a dealer stockyard, and it is reported that this variant will sit in the middle of the Scorpio Classic lineup and drive more sales to the model. The Scorpio Classic S5 variant has been rumored for some time, and now we finally have a glimpse of what the model has to offer.

The video of the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 variant has been shared on YouTube by The Car Show on their channel. It starts off with the presenter introducing the highly popular SUV model and giving a brief overview of its position in the lineup and overall additions. He then moves to the front of the Scorpio Classic S5 and mentions that the variant features a matte and glossy black mixed front grille with the traditional Mahindra seven slats. He also notes that the car still has the same halogen headlamps as the base variant.

Following this, he states that the S5 variant also lacks fog lamps and LED DRLs, which come in the top-spec S11 variant of the SUV. Moving on, he adds that the bumper now comes in body color instead of the matte black in the S5 variant, and it also features a sleek-looking silver skid plate at the bottom. The presenter then showcases the side profile of the car and states that it has 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tires.

Additionally, the car also comes with painted side claddings, but it does not have body-colored door handles and mirrors; instead, it has blacked-out ones. Another addition over the base model in the S5 variant is roof rails, as stated by the YouTuber. After the side profile, the presenter shows the rear of the car and mentions that it has the same rear end as the other variants, which includes the new Mahindra twin peaks logo, Scorpio Classic moniker, and micro hybrid badging. He adds that the taillights are also the same as the top-spec variant.

He then shows the engine bay of the car and mentions that it has the highly popular hydraulic struts, which even the much more expensive Scorpio-N and XUV700 do not have. He then states that this variant is still powered by the same 2.2L mHawk diesel engine that produces a maximum of 130 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. The presenter adds that the engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and there is no option for an automatic gearbox. He then shows the interior of the car and states that it is pretty bare-bones with no infotainment system and a manual air conditioning system, along with window controls in the center. He mentions that the rest of the layout is the same as the other variants.
