Fortnite fans are getting ready for the release of Chapter 4, Season 3 on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC. The new season launches alongside a huge gameplay update, which adds new points of interest to the map, as well as new Battle Pass skins like Optimus Prime. Unfortunately, however, the Season 3 update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which means you won’t be able to login and play for at least a couple of hours. If you want to know when you can start logging back into Fortnite, check out the Chapter 4, Season 3 downtime schedule below.

Following on from the previous season, Chapter 4, Season 3 will launch on a Friday, and without a big in-game event.

For fans living in the UK, matchmaking will be disabled at 6.30am BST, while servers will be taken offline in full at 7am BST.

The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside confirmation that the update will be bigger than usual.

“The Wilds await…” reads an Epic tweet. “Downtime for Fortnite WILDS begins at 2 AM ET, with matchmaking being disabled shortly before.

“Please note patch sizes will be larger than usual for some platforms.”

If it’s anything like previous periods of server downtime, then maintenance should end after a couple of hours, meaning the game will be back online at around 9am BST.

It’s worth pointing out, however, that downtime for a new season can sometimes last longer than usual, so don’t be surprised if maintenance runs until 10 or even 11am.

Whatever happens, Express Online will keep this article updated with all the latest developments, including confirmation on when the game is back online.

Optimus Prime headlines the Battle Pass, as Epic Games teams up with the Transformers franchise ahead of the release of Rise of the Beasts.

Other skins include the adventurer Lorenzo, as well as Era, Trace and Rian. That’s on top of Mariposa, Relik, and Purradise Meowscles.

The season itself has a tropical theme, with a temple and volcano among the new points of interest coming to the map.

The season will also launch alongside a big update, which makes numerous bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.
