Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic will share battery specs

The final piece of the puzzle regarding the batteries powering the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series has been found. Thanks to an online listing from a regulator in China, we now know the battery capacities for the standard Galaxy Watch 6 and the Watch 6 Classic in all sizes.
According to this new data, the largest Galaxy Watch 6 models, i.e., the 44mm Galaxy Watch 6 (SM-R940/SM-R945) and the 46mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (SM-R960/SM-R965), will use the same battery. It has a rated capacity of 417mAh and a typical capacity of 425mAh. The entire series, sans the possible Watch 6 Pro, has the following battery configuration:
- Galaxy Watch 6 40mm (SM-R930/SM-R935): 300mAh battery.
- Galaxy Watch 6 44mm (SM-R940/SM-R945): 425mAh battery.
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 42mm (SM-R950/SM-R955): 300mAh battery.
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 46mm (SM-R960/SM-R965): 425mAh battery.
There’s no additional information regarding the alleged Galaxy Watch 6 Pro or its battery capacity — assuming this smartwatch exists. There’s always the possibility that the earlier reports concerning the Watch 6 Pro were mistaking the Classic for the Pro, and there may not be a Pro model this year.
Perhaps the most intriguing part about the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series remains the possible return of the physical rotating bezel. The release of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will supposedly bring back this element that was removed from the lineup last year when Samsung added the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro to the mix.
Although no release date information is available, if we were to take an educated guess, we’d say that Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy Watch 6 series in August-September at Unpacked, next to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and possibly the Galaxy Tab S9 tablet lineup.
