How to share small parts of videos with others using ‘YouTube Clips’

0 55

In contrast to sending someone a link to a whole video, YouTube has made it possible to share fixed sections of videos with others. The feature is called ‘YouTube Clips” and can help you share a definite part of any video with others via different apps. Here’s how you can do it:

What is the YouTube Clips feature and how does it work?
Previously, in order to share a YouTube video with family and friends, you had to copy and paste the video’s link, which, depending on their device, would either open the YouTube app or a browser. This method shares the whole video with others. However, the YouTube Clips feature enables users to share a portion of the video.

Using a Clip, you can edit the video to only show the parts you want the recipient to see and then send that part only via a link. When they click on your link, they will see that clip as a separate video with a progress bar that only goes as far as the end of the clip you have chosen. Here’s how you can create and share a Clip from a YouTube video:

1.

Open the YouTube app on your device.

2.

Find and open a video you want to share.

3.

Hit the Clip button available under the video.

4.

Rename the Clip.

5.

Move the sliders to trim the video.

6.

Once done editing, hit the Share Clip button.

7.

Copy and send the link.
