Meta-owned WhatsApp allows users to send text messages, voice messages, make voice and video calls, share images, videos, and documents with other users. Apart from its core messaging functionality, WhatsApp has several security features to protect user data and privacy.

In a recent update, WhatsApp has rolled out a voice status feature for Android users, which will allow them to upload their voice as their status. Earlier, this feature was rolled out for iOS users, and now the company has made this feature available for Android users as well.

With this update, WhatsApp users on Android can record a voice status on the app. This feature will enable users to share a voice note as a status update. These voice notes can be shared only with a certain audience configured within the user’s privacy settings.

The voice notes shared as status updates will also be end-to-end encrypted. This will ensure that only the contacts which users choose within their privacy settings can access them. Just like images and videos, voice notes shared via status will also disappear after 24 hours.

However, users will also be able to delete voice notes for everyone after they have been posted as status updates. These abilities will help users always stay in control over what they share.
