Is The Galaxy Z Fold 4 Compatible With The S Pen?

0 68

Last year, with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung finally brought over one of the most requested features – making it compatible with the. S Pen. It wasn’t available initially because the screen on foldable devices is much softer than non-foldables, and something like the S Pen could easily damage that screen.

But with the Fold 3, Samsung made the screen even stronger than before. And now with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Samsung claims that it is about 45% stronger than the Fold 3’s screen was. So, the S Pen is compatible still.

Samsung says that the S Pen Fold Edition and the S Pen Pro both work with the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

It’s compatible, but you’ll need to pay extra

While the S Pen is compatible, you are going to need to pay extra for it. Meaning it’s not included in the box like the Galaxy S22 Ultra, or previous Note models. That also means that there’s no silo for the S Pen to live in. Making it a whole lot easier to lose that S Pen.

So what’s the difference between the S Pen Fold Edition and the S Pen Pro? Basically, Bluetooth and battery. The S Pen Fold Edition is the older S Pen, that doesn’t use Bluetooth at all. This is great for taking notes, scrolling through the UI and such. But the S Pen Pro has Bluetooth included, which allows for some really nifty gestures on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The S Pen Fold Edition will run you about $50, while the S Pen Pro will run you about $100.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the perfect device for a stylus. Especially with that larger 7.6-inch display inside, it’s great for taking notes on, and scrolling through apps like Twitter. As you’ll be able to hold the phone with one hand and the stylus with the other.
