Mahindra XUV700 luxury crossover’s roof leaking in rain: Video surfaces online

0 37

Mahindra has recently been launching new products in the market. The Mahindra Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio N are some of their popular SUVs. The Mahindra XUV700 is currently their flagship product, being the most technologically advanced and feature-loaded SUV in their lineup. However, there have been reports of customers complaining about issues with their cars online. In one particular video, a Mahindra XUV700 is shown with water leaking into the cabin from the roof.

The video was uploaded by Raftaar 7811 on their YouTube channel. In the video, the vlogger showcases a video that a customer of the Mahindra XUV700 AX5 variant had shared online. Initially, the video appears normal, with nothing unusual. However, the vlogger mentions that the customer posted the video of the XUV500 because water was leaking into the cabin from the roof.

The XUV700 in the video is the version that comes with a panoramic sunroof. There have been previous videos where customers complained about leaking sunroofs. Surprisingly, the customer mentions that the water is not leaking into the cabin via the sunroof; it is actually leaking through the sunglass holder area. In the video, the customer does not open the sunglass holder. From the video, it is clear that it was raining outside, and during this time, the owner noticed the water leakage.

The owner is extremely disappointed and wants Mahindra to take immediate action to correct this issue. The owner specifically mentions that the water is leaking from the sunglass holder area. Mahindra has not yet released an official statement regarding this incident. It is unclear whether the XUV700 seen in the video is new or if the customer has been using it for several years or months. The roof of the SUV with a sunroof has channels designed to prevent water from leaking into the vehicle. If these channels become blocked by dust, leaves, or debris, the water flow is affected, and leakage may occur.

This is just a possibility, and it is uncertain what exactly happened in this case. A few months ago, an Indian YouTuber also shared a video showing the sunroof of his brand new Mahindra Scorpio N 4×4 leaking under a waterfall in the mountains. The video went viral on the internet, and the YouTuber later got it repaired at an authorized service center.

The Mahindra XUV700 was launched in 2021 and is the first Mahindra product to come with ADAS functions. The SUV is available in both 5 and 7-seat configurations, with petrol and diesel engine options. It offers a 2.2-liter mHawk turbo diesel engine and a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine. The petrol engine generates 200 Ps and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version generates 155 Ps & 360 Nm in the lower variants and 185 Ps and 150 Nm torque in higher models. Both engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission. Mahindra is even offering AWD as an option in the top-end AX7 variant. The price for the Mahindra XUV700 starts at Rs 14.01 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 26.18 lakh (ex-showroom).
