Samsung may have started pushing the April 2023 Android security patch to its Galaxy devices, but a few are still in the process of getting the March patch. The Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy A52 5G, and Galaxy A02s are now widely receiving last month’s security update in the US. It contains fixes for more than 60 vulnerabilities, including at least five critical ones.

The March SMR (Security Maintenance Release) was pushed to the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S21 FE in the US last week. Samsung has now expanded the rollout to cover factory-unlocked units as well. The new security update is rolling out to the phone with the firmware build number G990U1UEU5EWB7 (via). The update is widely available on all major networks across the nation.

The Galaxy A52 5G is also picking up the March SMR widely in the US. The update is live for both carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the premium mid-range smartphone. The new firmware versions are A526USQS7EWC1 and A526U1UES7EWC1, respectively.

Like the Galaxy S21 FE, this phone also isn’t getting any new features or improvements with this update. They recently received the One UI 5.1 update with plenty of goodies. The latest release is all about security enhancements.

Last month’s security update is also available for the Galaxy A02s in the US. It’s an entry-level smartphone launched in late 2020. The device debuted with Android 10 and received updates until Android 12. It is not eligible for Android 13, so there’s no question of One UI 5.1 here.

But, if you’re using this phone stateside, a new security update is headed your way. As of this writing, the March SMR is only available for the carrier-locked units. It comes with the firmware version A025USQS1CWC1 or A025USQS1CWC2 depending on your carrier. Unlocked units should soon join the party.
