Meek Mill Wants to Perform at Wedding for ‘Dreams & Nightmares’ Anniversary

0 61

This October, Meek Mill’s debut studio album Dreams and Nightmares will mark its tenth anniversary. And according to Meek, he has his eyes on an inventive way of celebrating the occasion.

In a tweet shared Tuesday night, Meek—who recently signed with WME after departing Roc Nation—said he would perform “at a wedding for free” in commemoration of the 10th anniversary. Not clarified, however, was whether Meek meant he would perform the album’s title track or the entire album itself.

“If you get married in October … ima commit to performing dreams & nightmares at a wedding for free for the 10 year Anniversary,” Meek said, immediately spurring a slew of excited inquiries as to how best to make this a reality.

Within hours, Meek returned to Twitter to offer some clarity on his comments, noting this was “not a marketing plan” but instead a “random thought” presented in real time.

It’s unclear what may or may not be next on Meek’s Dreams and Nightmares-focused anniversary journey, so stay tuned. It’s hard to imagine the album, featuring a still-ubiquitous intro track, not being the subject of a number of celebrations in the months ahead.

Meek’s unveiling of wedding performance ambitions follows his response to Jay-Z shouting him out on his God Did title track collab with DJ Khaled. As previously reported, Jay rapped in the track that he and Meek “could never beef” in reference to the aforementioned Roc Nation departure.

In a succinctly worded tweet, Meek echoed a key part of Hov’s verse, driving home the point even further with a heavy helping of exclamation points.
