Motorola Moto G53s 5G gets listed on the Google Play Console

0 62

The vanilla Moto G53 recently passed through the office for a full review. The budget device left us wanting a bit more in terms of value. It felt like Motorola sacrificed a bit too much in the way of specs to deliver 5G on a budget. As per a listing in the Google Play Console, the company is going to take at least one more stab at an affordable 5G device with what seems to be an upcoming Moto G53s 5G.

Google Play Console listing

The listing doesn’t reveal too much, but there are some specs included. The phone will be based on the Qualcomm SM4350 chipset, which is the Snapdragon 480. Not the 480+ that the G53 uses, but rather the slightly older variant that still offers two Cortex-A76, plus six Cortex-A55 CPU cores, with the big ones clocked slightly lower. The Adreno 619 GPU is the same too, and so are the ISP and the integrated X51 5G modem.

The display resolution on the G53s 5G is listed as 720 x 1600 pixels – the same as on the vanilla G53. Hopefully, that means that the 120Hz refresh rate will be carried over as well. The unit listed on the Google Play Console seems to have 4GB of RAM, but there might be a 6GB or even an 8GB variant available as well, just like on the regular G53.

The source has no information on battery capacity, but we know the regular G53 has 5,000 mAh paired with very slow 10W charging in the global version. If we assume the G53s 5G will borrow the cameras from its sibling, as well, these include a 50MP main snapper and a 2MP macro on the back with an 8MP or 16MP selfie, depending on the region.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for any further news regarding the Moto G53s 5G as it becomes available.
