New BMW iX xDrive50 debuts in India at Rs 1.40 crore, boasting a bigger battery, powerful motors, and sleek upgrades, setting a new standard in luxury electric SUVs.

BMW India has rolled out a brand-new version of its iX series, and it’s packed with upgrades.

The iX xDrive50 has made its grand entrance, boasting top-notch features and a price tag of Rs 1.40 crore, ex-showroom, India.

The iX xDrive50 boasts a larger 111.5kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP-certified range of 635km, whereas the iX xDrive40 comes with a 76.6kWh battery offering a range of 425km. Equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, the xDrive50 delivers a combined power of 523 bhp and 765 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 4.6 seconds.

As per the Press Release, charging the battery is efficient, with options ranging from 10-80 percent in about 35 minutes using a 195kW DC charger, to approximately 11 hours with an 11kW AC charger.

Although both the iX xDrive50 and xDrive40 share similar appearances and features, the former comes with standard 22-inch alloy wheels and adaptive suspension. Optional extras include ‘Laserlight’ highlights, a Titanium Bronze exterior finish, and active seat ventilation.

The iX xDrive50 is backed by a standard 2-year/unlimited km warranty and 5-year roadside assistance. Moreover, the batteries are covered by an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty.

With its debut, BMW’s electric SUV now stands as the priciest contender among rivals like the Mercedes EQE SUV (Rs 1.39 crore), Jaguar I-Pace (Rs 1.26 crore), and Audi Q8 e-tron (Rs 1.14 crore-1.27 crore) (All prices, ex-showroom).
