‘Not afraid to die, prepared to go to prison if the US government tries to censor X,’ says Elon Musk

Self-proclaimed free speech absolutist Elon Musk claims that he is prepared to go to prison and won’t give in to the FBI’s ‘requests’ to censor X, should they come asking again. He also claimed that although people believe he may be assassinated, he is not afraid to die

In a recent discussion on the Spaces platform on X with controversial figure Alex Jones, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk declared his readiness to serve time in prison if any arm of the US government, such as the FBI, attempted to censor content on X, Musk’s social media platform.

Musk, describing himself as a law-abiding citizen with a corporate empire that adheres to numerous rules and regulations, emphasized his commitment to resisting potential unlawful demands from government agencies.
“If I think a government agency is breaking the law in their demands on the platform, I would be prepared to go to prison personally,” Musk stated during the Spaces discussion.

He specifically mentioned the FBI and expressed concerns about illegal censorship similar to the agency’s actions regarding the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020.

Over the weekend, Musk reversed X’s previous stance and reinstated Alex Jones on the X platform, despite opposition. Musk had refused clemency earlier, citing Jones’ exploitation of child deaths for viewership.
Jones had previously been found guilty of promoting the idea that the mass shooting incident at Sandy Hook was a false flag operation, which resulted in a $1.4 billion damages order. After the trial, Jones acknowledged the shooting had indeed occurred.

Musk’s decision to bring back Jones to the platform follows concerns about major advertisers, including Disney and Walmart, pulling their ads due to worries about appearing next to neo-Nazi posts.

Musk, facing the potential financial impact of these boycotts, has expressed concerns about X facing bankruptcy, and declared that if X is forced to go bankrupt and shut down, it will be the fault of the advertisers.

Jones, after returning to X, speculated about government plots to assassinate former President Donald Trump. “They already have the plans, the blueprints ready. I guarantee you they’re trying to poison him right now,” he said of Trump, on Spaces.

He then went on to warn Musk of meeting the same fate. “If they gun down Elon Musk, that only makes him bigger,” Jones said. “They don’t want to turn us into martyrs, they either poison you or they come to a murder-suicide—kill your wife, kill you—that’s a known deep state tactic.”

Musk, acknowledging the risks of challenging the powers that be, expressed a lack of fear of death. “Some people are afraid to die, but I am not,” he said.
