Samsung has started updating some of its high-end tablets to the latest One UI 5.1 update. The first to break the ice was the Galaxy Tab S8 series, but it didn’t take long for the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ to follow.

Samsung’s 2020 flagship tablets are getting One UI 5.1 in numerous countries, where users can identify the release by firmware version TxxxXXU2DWB2.
The update is rolling out in the following regions, but more markets should follow sooner rather than later:

  • Korea, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Slovenia, South East Europe, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, France, Nordic countries, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Greece, Poland, the UK, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Portugal, Hungary, Romania, and Baltic countries.

Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ users should e able to download the update in markets where it is available by opening the Settings app on the tablet, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” For manual installs, users can refer to our firmware page and download the official firmware files.

One UI 5.1 brings numerous improvements on top of the already-great One UI 5.0 update. Thanks to the update, the Galaxy Tab S7 series should now offer seamless connectivity with Galaxy Book 3 laptops (including drag-and-drop across the laptop and tablet), better multi-window capabilities for Samsung DeX, and various UI tweaks.

Galaxy Tab S7 users running One UI 5.1 should also benefit from improved connectivity with external speakers, new Dynamic Weather widgets with fresh animations, a Shared Family Album in the Gallery app, and a lot more. Various Samsung apps also received numerous improvements through One UI 5.1, including Samsung Internet, Gallery, Settings, Weather, AR Emoji Camera, and others.

Samsung should continue rolling out One UI 5.1 to more devices and Galaxy tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which wasn’t included with this initial One UI 5.1 release for the high-end Tab S7 flagship duo but might be next in line. Samsung’s roadmap says the Fan Edition device should get One UI 5.1 before the end of February, and the end of the month is here. There might be a delay, but hopefully, the update will catch up soon.

Thanks for the tip, KirkyLAD!
