Pixel Tablet To Feature 10.95-Inch Display, 256GB Storage & Wi-Fi 6

Google‘s upcoming Pixel Tablet is taking shape bit by bit. Over the past few weeks, we have learned quite a lot about the device through official development resources. It may only support the 64-bit build of Android 13 and feature the first-gen Tensor chipset. Developer Kuba Wojciechowski has now dug out some more information about the tablet, including its display and storage specs.

According to the developer, who first shared the information with 91Mobiles, the Pixel Tablet will sport a 10.95-inch display. We still don’t know whether it’s an AMOLED or LCD panel, though. However, the device is confirmed to support Google’s first-party USI 2.0 stylus. It had previously picked up the USI certification, so this isn’t surprising.

Google will reportedly pair the first-gen Tensor processor on the Pixel Tablet with 128GB and 256GB of storage options. You could get 8GB of RAM with either storage configuration. This tablet will support Wi-Fi 6. Mind you, not the newer Wi-Fi 6E. Kuba had previously revealed that the device will lack GPS hardware, cellular modem, proximity and barometer sensors, and “high-fidelity” sensor processing.

The same source could further confirm that the Pixel Tablet has entered EVT (engineering validation test) phase. Google has even started sending units to markets like India for EVT and certification. This means Google has finalized the design and key hardware for the product. It will now internally test the tablet for functionality before proceeding with the mass production.

Other rumored specs, or perhaps confirmed through official development resources, of the Pixel Tablet include a dual-camera system consisting of two Sony IMX355 sensors. Note that we are talking about one camera each on the front and the back and not two rear cameras.

The Pixel Tablet could be a detachable screen for the Nest Hub

The Pixel Tablet may not be a premium Android tablet. It features an older processor and lacks several key hardware such as a proximity sensor, GPS, and cellular modem. Rumors are that Google is developing the product as a detachable screen for the Nest Hub. Perhaps this is something revealed through animations present within Android 13 QPR1 Beta 1 released earlier this month. Of course, you can use the Pixel Tablet as a standalone device as well. However, it will be pretty barebones and not suitable for outdoor use.

Evidence recently emerged that Google is working on a Pixel Tablet Pro. Details about it are scarce at the moment, but we may soon start seeing leaks about the Pro model too. We will keep you posted.
