Google announced its very first foldable, the Pixel Fold, during Google I/O 2023 last month. Google announced the phone in Obsidian and Porcelain variants. The Porcelain Pixel Fold was out of stock in the US for a while, and unavailable to pre-order, but that is no longer the case, as it’s now back.

You can now pre-order the 256GB Pixel Fold in Porcelain color for $1,799, or 24 monthly payments of $74.96. The Obsidian model with 256GB of storage has the same price tag. If you want to grab the 512GB variant in Obsidian color, however, you’ll have to part with $1,919, or make 24 monthly payments of $79.96.

Depending on the variant you opt for, it will be delivered either at the end of July or in early August. Do note that the official release date for the Pixel Fold is June 27. Those of you who ordered one early will likely get it around that date.

The Pixel Fold takes a different approach than the Galaxy Z Fold series. It leans towards a horizontal layout when unfolded, which makes it wide and short when folded. It is more similar to OPPO’s Find N series book-style foldables, than it is to the Galaxy Z Fold series.

The phone has two 120Hz displays, and a compelling camera setup

The phone is fueled by the Google Tensor G2 SoC. It features a 7.6-inch main display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5.8-inch external panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both of those are OLED displays.

A 48-megapixel main camera is backed by a 10.8-megapixel ultrawide unit. A 10.8-megapixel periscope telephoto camera is also included, and it supports 5x optical zoom. Two selfie cameras are also a part of the offering, a 9.5-megapixel one (external display), and an 8-megapixel one (internal display).

Google also included a 4,821mAh battery on the inside here. If you’d like to know more about the phone’s specs, click here. We’ve also spent some time with the phone, so here’s our hands-on experience with it.
