Redmi K70e to launch as POCO F6 globally

Redmi has been teasing the Redmi K70e for a couple of days now in its home country. The device has been confirmed to feature the Mediatek Dimensity 8300 chipset. A Geekbench listing also revealed that the model number of this device will be 2311DRK48C. The same model number (2311DRK48G) has been certified on the IMDA website by POCO with the “G” signifying that the same device is meant for global markets.

Similarly, the device was also spotted on BIS certification with model number 2311DRK48I which indicates that the device will be heading to the Indian market too. This device is widely expected to be the POCO F6 for global markets, thanks to it being certified under the POCO brand name.

The confirmed specifications of the Redmi K70e include a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast wired charging. The device will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display and a thickness of 8.05mm. It will also come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage standards. It remains to be seen if all the specs will make their way to the global variant too, including its HyperOS software.

The POCO F5 that launched earlier this year in India was a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and came with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. The switch to Mediatek Dimensity 8300 chipset could mean that either the device is coming at a lower price point or will include further specs enhancement to justify its price tag.
