Samsung could be mulling a new flagship line for 2023
A few days back, a mysterious Samsung device with the model number SM-K741B/DS popped up on a certification website. Two more devices from the same series have since been spotted, bearing model numbers SM-K746B/DS and SM-K748B/DS. While there’s no information available about these devices, Samsung has hinted at the possibility of a new flagship line for 2023. In a meeting with its business partners last month, the company reportedly said that it is “preparing to introduce a new S series that strengthens the core experience and identity of the Galaxy” next year.
While Samsung could simply be referring to the upcoming Galaxy S23 series, the recent developments open up other possibilities too. The company doesn’t have a K-series smartphone line, so those mysterious devices could launch under an existing lineup. Moreover, they appeared alongside the Galaxy S23 trio. Maybe the Korean firm plans to add a third flagship lineup to the mix, along with the existing Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series. Perhaps a full FE (Fan Edition) line of affordable Galaxy S flagships, as a Galaxy S22 FE doesn’t seem to be coming next year.

For 2023, the company has set a target to ship 270 million smartphones, which is relatively low by the company’s standards.
