Samsung Is Readying Android 13 For Galaxy A22 5G & Other Budget Models

0 388

Samsung is publicly beta-testing Android 13 for several Galaxy devices. The beta program is available for most of its flagship models released over the past few years. The Galaxy A52 is the only mid-range model to get the beta update so far. But, behind the scenes, the company is testing Android 13-based One UI 5.0 for a bunch of other budget and mid-range devices as well. These include the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, Galaxy A22 5G, and Galaxy A03s.

All of these devices have been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance running Android 13. The Galaxy A03s received the certification last week, while the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Galaxy A22 5G joined it earlier this week (via).

These certifications mean Samsung is working on Android 13  for the devices. It doesn’t necessarily indicate a nearing public release, though. We might still be a month or two away from the official release of the new Android version for the trio.

Samsung recently released its Android 13 update roadmap, revealing that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will get the update in January next year. However, that roadmap only concerns the South Korean version of the tablet. The update may arrive sooner or later in other markets, though it shouldn’t be a huge deviation.

The Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy A03s don’t appear on the list as they weren’t released in Samsung’s homeland. Rest assured, we will let you know as soon as we have any information about Android 13 for these devices.

Samsung will update over a dozen Galaxy models with Android 13 next month

As said earlier, Samsung is currently beta-testing Android 13 for several flagship models. These include the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, and the Galaxy Note 20 series. The company plans to push the stable update to all of these devices in November.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Quantum 3, Galaxy A53 5G, and Galaxy A33 5G will also get the stable Android 13 update next month, at least in South Korea. You can check out the full roadmap here.

Android 13-based One UI 5.0 brings plenty of new features and changes to Galaxy devices. From a redesigned UI and improved animations to features like Maintenance Mode, new photography features, and improved privacy and security features, there’s a lot to look forward to. If you’re using an eligible Galaxy smartphone or tablet, stay tuned for the stable Android 13 update for your device.
