Steam Deck Is Discounted For The First Time

0 45

A whole year has passed since Valve launched the Steam Deck, and to celebrate the occasion, the handheld gaming device is getting a big discount. From now until the end of the Steam Spring Sale on March 23, you’ll be able to save 10% off the regular price of a Steam Deck. This is the first time that Valve has ever offered the Steam Deck at a discounted price, and if you’re interested, you’ll be able to pick one based on how much storage capacity you require.

The entry-level 64GB model has eMMC storage and comes with a carrying case, while the 256GB version has faster NVMe SSD storage, the same carrying case, and includes an exclusive Steam profile bundle. For the high-end 512GB version, you’ll get a more premium carrying case, NVMe SSD storage, a special anti-glare glass coating, an exclusive virtual keyboard theme, and the Steam profile bundle.

Steam Deck sale prices

  • Steam Deck 64GB version — $359.10 ($399)
  • Steam Deck 256GB version — $476.10 ($529)
  • Steam Deck 512GB version — $584.10( $649)

Since it launched, Valve has added a number of software updates and quality-of-life improvements to the Steam Deck. This week saw the release of an update to transfer installed games and game files between PCs and Steam Decks via a local network, and the system has a user-friendly design that allows you to easily customize it. There’s even an official dock available for it, so if you’re tired of playing games in bed, you can hook it up to a monitor or TV.

One of the big selling points of the Steam Deck is its native access to Valve’s digital marketplace and the staggering amount of support for over 8,000 verified titles on it. From Marvel’s Spider-Man to Metal Gear Rising, the Steam Deck has proven to be a flexible handheld that has opened up PC gaming like never before.

“With cutting-edge hardware, thoughtfully designed ergonomics, a satisfying controller layout, and a software layer that simplifies PC gaming, the Steam Deck makes it a breeze to link to your Steam account and get started with your library on the go,” Alessandro Barbosa wrote in GameSpot’s Steam Deck review.
