Diablo 4 fans worried Season 1 will clash with another ARPG – Destructoid

Let’s not start Seasons off on the wrong foot I consider myself a pretty big fan of action-RPG games. Therefore, like many others, I have been cautiously optimistic about the longevity Diablo 4 can provide with its content releases. And right now, Season 1 of Diablo 4 has the potential to bring ARPG fans together, or drive them even further apart. When D4 finally got announced, it didn’t take long to start hearing two claims from ARPG fans. It was common to hear either “Diablo 4 will kill Path of Exile!” or “Diablo 4 …

Best Diablo 4 Rogue builds: recommended skills, passives, and gear

Rogues are always an enticing class to play as in RPGs like Diablo 4. These characters have plenty of different tricks and options open to them, making them versatile, but always deadly, no matter what World Tier you’re on. With so many options to pick from, such as melee or ranged, trap types, and different status effects, it can feel overwhelming when trying to figure out what is worth investing in to make a powerful Rogue. Rather than tinker endlessly with all the possible combinations of this class, we’ll give…

Best Diablo 4 Necromancer builds: recommended skills, passives, and gear

Why should all those corpses you create in Diablo 4 go to waste? You’ll be ripping through swaths of demons, monsters, and other evils all across Sanctuary during your adventure, and if you’re not playing in a group, you might feel a little lonely. Thankfully, the Necromancer is here to turn those former foes into brand-new friends. Sure, Necromancers have typically been seen as the villains, but you’re free to flip the script and show the world they can be heroes too. Becoming a master of the dead isn’t so simple,…

Best Diablo 4 Sorcerer builds: recommended skills, passives and gear

Each of the five classes in Diablo 4 plays to different strengths. All of them are viable for completing the game, whether you’re going through the story alone or with a group of friends, but it is important to know what role each one serves best and how to optimize them to take advantage of those strengths. The skill trees for each character can be a bit overwhelming, especially if this is your first time venturing into the world of Sanctuary. If the Sorcerer has caught your eye as a fun character to begin with,…

How the Paragon Board works in Diablo 4

Despite how deep your character builds can get in Diablo 4, the game does a decent job of slowly dishing out its mechanics and complexities over time. You start out gaining levels as expected, then are introduced to the Renown system, and not much else to confuse you for quite a while. Once you hit level 50, the game throws out another layer of complexity, this one far more confusing and intimidating than the others called the Paragon Board. If you’re new to Diablo, seeing this new system will almost certainly…

Indie time traveling ARPG Lysfanga coming in 2023 – Destructoid

What’s that? You want more hacking and slashing? T’is the season for ARPG fans, it appears. Diablo 4 is out, Path of Exile 2 was shown during Summer Game Fest, and now we have another title in the genre competing for our time. In this case, it’s Lysfanga from Sand Door Studio, which brings its own twist to the formula. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDRfAVyW0aw What will hopefully separate Lysfanga from the competition is a time traveling mechanic. By rewinding time, Lysfangha’s protagonist will create specters of…

Diablo 4: All Faded Plaque puzzle solutions

With the transition to a more open-world format for Diablo 4, there are far more things to discover as you travel across Sanctuary. In addition to the normal monsters, quests, and World Events, there are plenty of more mysterious locations to discover. Perhaps the most perplexing thing you will stumble upon is the collection of Faded Plaques. These shrines are small puzzles, but aside from a slight clue, they are very tricky to solve. If you want to know how to solve all the Faded Plaque puzzles in Diablo 4 for some…

How long is Diablo 4?

It’s no secret that Diablo 4 is meant to be a long adventure. There’s a lengthy main campaign, but it’s all the post-game content that really drives up the hour count. Add on the new open-world elements and tons of side content and online events, and it can feel like there’s a never-ending amount of things to do. How long it will take to beat Diablo 4 ultimately will come down to what you consider “beating” the game. Regardless of whether you’re just looking to go through the main story or partner up with friends for…

Diablo 4: all Stronghold locations

The Diablo series is famous for popularizing the Action RPG dungeon crawler. Really kicking off with the second game, that formula of building up your character, running deadly dungeons for loot, and doing it all again at higher difficulties is what many people come to these games for. Diablo 4 offers the largest variety of challenge yet. You have a lengthy main quest across multiple acts, optional dungeons, and random World Events, but the Strongholds are the first real taste of that endgame challenge. These…
