Ace Combat 7 flies onto Switch in July

There aren’t many quality flight titles to choose from on the Nintendo Switch. But the console’s library will be adding one this summer as Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is officially inbound. Bandai Namco dropped a new trailer confirming the news today. The Switch port of the 2019 air combat sim looks solid in trailer form, but we’ll have to wait until its July 11 release date to see if it runs as well as its PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One counterparts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwSASVf-0eY The Switch iteration…

Ace Combat 7 is getting a miraculous Switch port this summer

Bandai Namco Entertainment Over the years, a lot of impressive native Nintendo Switch ports have happened. Games like Doom, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Alien: Isolation all seem like they shouldn’t run that well on the console, but do. With the hybrid console’s more powerful successor on the horizon, only a few of these kinds of ports are probably left. Today, we learned that one of those will be Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, which will come to the system on July 11. First released for…

I’m not a big fan of MMOs. I find them much too grind-heavy and often find the gameplay of titles like World of Warcraft to somehow be both unnecessarily complex and boring at the same time. More traditional games in the genre fell out of favor throughout the 2010s, which is why Amazon’s concerted effort to corner the MMO market recently intrigues me. Has it found the secrets to creating a compelling modern MMO? That’s why I agreed to check out two Amazon MMOs at Summer Game Fest Play Days last month. While Throne…

Gundam Evolution will shut down this November

While Street Fighter 6 was the talk of the show floor at Summer Game Fest Play Days, another fighting game also managed to impress me at the event. That title was JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R, a fighting game based on the popular and heavily-memed anime and manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The original JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle was first released in Japan in 2013, scoring a rare perfect score from the popular Japanese outlet Famitsu. Anime fighting games vary wildly in quality, but…

Armored Core 6 gameplay shows off intense mech fights

A new gameplay video for FromSoftware’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is out now, and it highlights the intense combat and detailed mech customization that Digital Trends first got a look at during Summer Game Fest Play Days earlier in the month. ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON — Gameplay Footage The gameplay video begins with a mech leaping off a ledge and boosting through the air to get across a large mechanical facility. It then showcases some combat against minor enemies as the player…
