Peter Dillon faces manslaughter charge in 2021 Breckenridge trench collapse

The owner of a defunct Vail construction company surrendered to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in connection to the death of a worker in a 2021 trench collapse. Peter Dillon, who owned A4S LLC, faces a manslaughter charge, according to a U.S. Department of Labor news release. An arrest warrant was issued for Dillon on Tuesday after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration referred the case to the Summit County District Attorney’s Office. A construction contractor in Vail faces fines and federal scrutiny after a trench collapse killed a worker and the company “willfully” exposed workers to trench hazards. A4S Construction faces proposed penalties of $449,583 and the Vail company has been placed in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Severe Violator Enforcement Program, according to a news release Tuesday.
