Bluff review – tiny-budget cop thriller aims for Guy Ritchie meets Line of Duty | Film

Twenty-seven-year-old Birmingham-born director Sheikh Shahnawaz makes an impression with his macho low-budget debut about an undercover cop. It is a crime drama with two teaspoons of Guy Richie, a tablespoon of Line of Duty and a dollop of sentimental social-realism chucked in at end. It’s not without flaws but Shahnawaz is clearly ambitious and does well on what looks like a minuscule budget.Gurj Gill plays Danny, a Met detective recruited for an undercover operation: posing as an addict to sniff out major crack and…

Godzilla and Kong are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone

Activision is adding a wild crossover to Call of Duty: Warzone — the giant monsters Godzilla and Kong will appear in a new limited-time mode that kicks off tomorrow, May 11th. In the new mode, called Operation Monarch, players will compete to be the last team standing as Godzilla and Kong roam the island. While the monsters “usually don’t get too aggressive,” at certain points during a match, they might “become enraged and recklessly attack” in a “Titan Frenzy,” according to a blog post by Activision’s James Mattone.…

The best weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone for season 3

Since its release in 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone has captured the attention of over 100 million players, making it one of the most successful battle royale games to date. If you’ve played, you’ve probably learned that gaining a victory can be tough, especially if you’re struggling to find a weapon that suits you. Warzone is played way differently than Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard‘s conventional multiplayer suite; the goal is to have a diverse loadout that is ideal for all situations and attempts to…

Call of Duty: Warzone’s sniper nerf is a much-needed change

Over the past few months, Call of Duty: Warzone has undergone a substantial number of changes — most of which implement much-needed quality-of-life improvements. For instance, the dreaded gas mask animation will no longer interrupt your final moments of a given match, and the Ghost perk has finally been nerfed. As part of April 2022’s Season 3 update, Raven Software has nerfed many of the game’s best snipers, eliminating the ability to achieve one-hit headshot eliminations within certain distances. While this change…

Everything we know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)

Along with death and taxes, we can always be certain a new Call of Duty game will launch every year — at least for the foreseeable future. The franchise has received annual releases since the launch of Call of Duty 2 in 2005, raking in tons of money for publisher Activision. Unsurprisingly, we’ll get a new Call of Duty game in 2022, and even though it hasn’t been officially unveiled, we do know it’ll be called Modern Warfare II. That’s right, this game will serve as a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, continuing the…

Call of Duty Vanguard PC Performance Review: Can a Budget Gaming Rig Handle It?

Call of Duty: Vanguard released this past Friday on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S with crossplay enabled for multiplayer modes. The PC version of Call of Duty: Vanguard is exclusively available on Battle.net. Unlike last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard does not eat up a big chunk of your storage space. Cold War needed around 82GB of your HDD or SSD space for all game modes. Vanguard gives you an option for only installing multiplayer and zombies mode. These files are…

Call of Duty Vanguard Review: Big on Cinema, Short on Play

Call of Duty: Vanguard rubs and polishes the trite World War II theme to cinematic brilliance. What follows, though, is an epic story that never quite reaches a crescendo. The enigmatic heroes that knock your socks off in carefully imagined cutscenes render into one-trick-pony operatives for the most part. Call of Duty: Vanguard injects the biggest flights of World War II into a spin-off story about the mythical Fourth Reich, which is worthy of a big round of applause. But the 18th instalment of Activision's priced series…

Call of Duty anti-cheat system makes legit players invisible to cheaters

In a new blog post, the developers behind Call of Duty’s Ricochet anti-cheat system have outlined a new “cloaking” measure which makes legitimate players invisible to cheaters. It effectively makes it impossible for cheaters to be competitive during a match, regardless of any illicit software they might be using. “Characters, bullets, even sound from legitimate players will be undetectable to cheaters,” the blog post reads. “Legitimate players, however, can see cheaters impacted by cloaking… and can dole out in-game…
