FFXIV Labyrinthos Grape Lamppost pays humorous tribute to beloved low-poly grapes

Final Fantasy XIV has spurred plenty of memes over the years, though none seem to be as beloved to the community as the low-poly Grapes of Endwalker. Now, in Patch 6.55, you can have your own low-poly Grape tribute through a new lamppost furnishing.   Where did the low-poly grape meme come from? For a time after the initial release of Endwalker in December 2021, the grapes found in Labyrinthos became a source of player amusement because of their low-poly, blocky appearance. Although these grapes were soon updated, and…

Final Fantasy XI event brings the Amatsu glam back to FFXIV this month

The Maiden’s Rhapsody is returning to Final Fantasy XIV for the fifth time on January 22, and once again, players have a chance to get their hands on some pretty sweet glamor pieces. The Maiden’s Rhapsody is an FFXIV event celebrating the final chapter of FFXI, Rhapsodies of Vana’diel. With the theme of the upcoming Dawntrail Alliance Raid series being “Echoes of Vana’diel”, it makes sense to bring this event back for a fifth time this year, despite the fact that its last previous appearance was only in 2022. During the…

The best FFXIV Pictomancer memes we could find

As soon as Final Fantasy XIV‘s new Pictomancer job was revealed during Tokyo Fan Festival, Eorzeans across social media immediately utilized their own artistic talents to honor the game’s next magic user. No announcement would be complete without its fair share of memes, so here’s a few of the finest we’ve found. For those out of the loop, Pictomancer is the second job announced for FFXIV‘s upcoming Dawntrail expansion. Seemingly based on Final Fantasy 6‘s Relm Arrowny, the new footage of the game showed how the…

FFXIV and FFXVI crossover event planned for Early April – Destructoid

After being revealed at the Las Vegas Final Fantasy Fest in July, and then detailed at the London Fan Fest in October, the Final Fantasy XVI crossover event is scheduled to hit the popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV in Early April. We’ve known the event was in the works for a while now, but this is the first time we’re seeing an actual release timeframe. The event will launch with the current expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, ahead of the release of the new one Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail.…

FFXIV Tokyo Fan Fest reveals Pictomancer, 6.55 date, and Dawntrail timing

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail launches with two new jobs, and the Final Fantasy VI-inspired Pictomancer joins Viper this summer as the second DPS addition. If you were hoping to discover when exactly during Fan Fest, sorry — you’ll have to wait a bit. However, FFXIV Patch 6.55 launches this month, on January 16. During this year’s Tokyo Fan Festival, director and producer Naoki Yoshida took to the stage to show off Dawntrail’s Dawntrailer in its entirety. The new, lengthier footage features Krile joining the Scions as…

FFXIV suspends housing auto-demolition on Japanese servers after major earthquake – Destructoid

Showing just how much the development team cares for and supports their players in times of crisis, Final Fantasy XIV has temporarily suspended the auto-demolition of player housing on Japanese Servers after a massive magnitude 7.6 Earthquake that hit the Noto Peninsula on January 1. In a post uploaded to the Lodestone on January 4, developers acknowledged the tragedy and said their “hearts go out to those who were effected” by the natural disaster, which has left over 100 dead and many more still missing. The team…

Starlight Celebration 2023 will bring magic to FFXIV – Destructoid

Santa Clauses are coming to Final Fantasy XIV in droves! Snow is falling around the globe, Christmas trees are adorned with decorations and Menorahs are being lit for Hanukkah, but for those of us whose hearts dwell within the realms of Eorzea, it really is about to be the most wonderful time of the year – Starlight Celebration.  Image via Square Enix This year, for the first time since they gifted us the Choir set in 2018, Starlight Celebration will be providing players with a full set of glamour items. Not just any…

FFXIV Endwalker’s Low-Poly Grapes Have Been Immortalised In Physical Merchandise

Final Fantasy XIV's North American Fan Festival is taking place this July in Las Vegas, and the goody bag given to attendees has been announced with one very special piece of loot--a "squishable" toy of Endwalker's infamous low-poly grapes. While the grapes have since been patched to a more respectable grape-like shape, the meme lives on in the form of physical merchandise. "Relieve any lingering stress after hours of "farm parties" with these truly remarkable squishable Endwalker grapes. If you're ever…

FFXIV Patch 6.3 Notes: New Quests, Alliance Raid, And Group Pose Changes

FFXIV Patch 6.3, Gods Revel, Lands Tremble, is releasing on January 10. Ahead of the update, Square Enix posted preliminary patch notes, detailing what players can expect. It's a hefty list, so we've cherry-picked a couple changes and updates below.6.3 will include a new Main Scenario Quest update with a new snowy-looking dungeon called Lapis Manalis. There will also be a new trial and raid, but no details on what either will be (literally, the patch notes say "hidden").…

The FFXIV team is investigating recent network issues

Following Patch 6.1 Final Fantasy XIV has been having some network hiccups lately. No, not nearly as catastrophic as the launch of Endwalker! But still notable to the point where the team is putting up a blog asking folks to send in reports of their own FFXIV network issues. As is the case with many missives, the game’s own producer Naoki “Yoshi P” Yoshida took to the game’s blog to notify users of “network-related issues,” including packet loss and lag. The culprit is patch 6.1, which was implemented back on April…
