The Boring Company is finally going to make a full-scale version of Elon Musk’s Hyperloop

The Boring Company is finally going to make a full-scale version of Elon Musk’s Hyperloop – a new high-speed mode of transportation – and it is coming as soon as this year. Back in 2013, Elon Musk released a white paper describing what he called the ‘Hyperloop’, a new mode of transportation consisting of building a near-hard vacuum environment in a tunnel or tube in order to move electric vehicles at high speeds more efficiently inside of them. At the time, Musk put the idea out there and encourage other…

What Happens to Matter Swallowed by Black Holes? Japanese Physicists May Finally Have an Answer

A team of physicists may have solved the mystery surrounding the matter that is swallowed by black holes. These physicists considered wormholes — theoretical tunnels with two ends at separate points in spacetime — to explain the long-held mystery. Black holes are regions in space through which no matter can pass. The gravity of a black hole is so strong that it pulls everything inside itself and allows nothing to get out, not even light. A team from Japan's RIKEN research institute said that black holes mimic wormholes,…

Apple finally launches its self-service repair program

Apple has finally opened up its self-service repair program, allowing customers access to tools and manuals to service their own phones without needing to go to an Apple Store or third-party certified repair stores. This follows an announcement made in late 2021 that has spurred a series of similar moves from industry competitors such as Samsung and Google. The company will charge customers $49 for rental access to tools for a single repair, while also offering access to purchases of parts and tools for those who…

The experimental Dell XPS 13 Plus has finally launched

The Dell XPS 13 Plus was first announced at CES earlier this year, and it was definitely one of Dell’s more unconventional designs. For those willing to take the plunge, the XPS 13 Plus is now available to purchase starting at $1,299. That said, it’s good to know what you’re getting yourself into before you spend your hard earned cash. Some aspects of the XPS 13 Plus are welcome, while others may defy practicality. If anything, you’ll have a laptop that is unlike many of its counterparts. As you can see…

Avatar 2 finally has a title, and the first trailer will debut with Doctor Strange

The first Avatar sequel will be called Avatar: The Way of Water, Disney announced Wednesday at CinemaCon, perhaps the biggest indication yet that the long-delayed movie is actually going to be released on December 16th. And we might have even more potential proof soon, as the first teaser trailer is set to debut alongside Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which premieres on May 6th. Here is Disney’s synopsis of the film, which is quite vague: Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar:…

Microsoft is finally adding Teams to its own store

You’ll soon be able to download Microsoft Teams from the Microsoft Store that comes built into Windows, according to a roadmap update from the company, as spotted by Neowin. Yes, you read that right. Microsoft’s work communications app hasn’t been available on its own store up to this point; it either had to be downloaded from the web or installed alongside the rest of Office 365. (Though, as ZDNet notes, it was available at one point on the store exclusively for people using Windows 10 in S mode, which restricted…

Ice Age’s Scrat Finally Gets to Eat the Acorn, as Shuttered Studio Blue Sky Bids Farewell to Franchise

The Ice Age franchise expanded this week — on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar — with the shorts series Ice Age: Scrat Tales, but it's the swansong for its creator and animation outfit Blue Sky Studios. Less than two years under its new owner Disney as part of its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, Blue Sky was shuttered last April with Disney citing effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With Ice Age: Scrat Tales, Blue Sky delivers its final piece in the Ice Age mythology: a series of six shorts starring hapless…

Borderlands 3 is finally getting crossplay support with PlayStation consoles

Gearbox Software added crossplay to Borderlands 3 last year, but Sony’s platforms didn’t support the feature at first. That will change soon, as the company announced at PAX East that full crossplay support — including with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 — will be arriving sometime in the spring, GameSpot reports. When the feature is available, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia players will all be able to play the game with each other. Sony has been resistant to enabling crossplay on some games in the past,…
