Hellsinger’ reveals loud new track from Trivium’s Matt Heafy

Metal: Hellsinger has revealed that a song from its upcoming DLC is performed by Trivium lead singer Matt Heafy. This will be Heafy’s second contribution to Metal: Hellsinger, with his first contribution, ‘This Devastation’, in the base game along with songs from Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) and Serj Tankian (System of a Down). The teaser for Heafy’s new song is an extremely heavy affair, featuring his trademark vocals and a melodic riff. It’s titled ‘Goodbye My Morning Star’ and will be…

Hellsinger’ DLC adds Gorillaz, Paramore, Muse and more

Rhythm shooter Metal: Hellsinger has launched its Essential Hits Pack, downloadable content (DLC) that adds tracks from the likes of Disturbed, Depeche Mode, and Gorillaz. The Essential Hits Pack launched yesterday (June 13) and is described as a “mixed-genre pack of eight hit songs from some of the biggest bands in the world”. While Metal: Hellsinger‘s soundtrack has traditionally been grounded in metal since launching last year, the Essential Hits Pack is “not just for metalheads,” according to the DLC’s latest trailer…

Shit’s about to get even heavier Publisher Funcom, in association with Swedish developer The Outsiders has announced a release date for Dream of the Beast, a brand new DLC expansion for its hellish shooter Metal: Hellsinger. The new expansion will be bringing new songs and weapons to the award-winning actioner on March 29. Two new headbangin’ tracks will be included in the DLC. The first will feature the powerhouse vocals of Lacuna Coil frontwoman Cristina Scabbia, who I’ve super-duper fancied for literal decades, but…

Scabbia and Ramos will each bring their own original track to the first-person shooter (FPS), though the titles of these songs are yet to be announced. Players will be able to play along to both tracks through a new song selection feature, which The Outsiders says will be added…

Metal: Hellsinger gets official mod support for custom songs

First-person shooter rhythm game Metal: Hellsinger has received official mod support, allowing players to decimate demons to any music genre on the PC version. With this, players can utilize a free modding tool called FMOD Studio to add many songs to the game, offering endless replay value. Modding has always found its way into music-rhythm games, but it’s unusual for a developer to integrate official support for custom songs. The team released a cheeky video showcasing the game in action, but with an upbeat jazz…

The best weapons in Metal: Hellsinger

Metal: Hellsinger only gives you six weapons to blast your way through Hell. Each one comes with a striking design and unique playstyle, but some are simply better suited to combat than others. All six are entirely viable, but it might take a bit more practice (or equipping a particular Sigil) to make them worthy of a slot in your inventory. Since you can only bring four items from your arsenal into combat — two of which are permanent fixtures — you’ll want to choose the best weapons in Metal: Hellsinger before…

Metal: Hellsinger beginner’s guide, 10 tips for slaying to the beat

Metal: Hellsinger is a chaotic FPS game that wants you to slay to the beat of the music. It’s a bit challenging to wrap your head around at first, but once things click, you’ll be ripping through demons like it’s second nature. The game doesn’t take long to beat, but with Sigils, Torments, several unique weapons, and plenty of in-game skills to master, there’s a surprising amount of depth to this popular new shooter. If you need some help battling your way through Hell and climbing the leaderboards, here are some…

Metal: Hellsinger might be the only rhythm game I’m good at

Metal: Hellsinger’s rhythm mechanics are a match made in hell. Metal: Hellsinger is the rhythm game that I always wanted but never knew. I’ve always liked rhythm games on a conceptual level, but despite being a child of the Dance Dance Revolution, none have evoked the same visceral reaction or trance-like state I got from Metal: Hellsinger. This is a game that drew tears from my eyes because I hadn’t blinked in over a minute and had me sighing after I defeated a boss because I’d been subconsciously…
