Hyundai and Kia’s Overall Vehicle Sales Grows 7.9 Percent Despite Chip Shortage in US

Hyundai Motor Group said on Wednesday its overall vehicle sales in the United States rose 7.9 percent last month from a year earlier despite the extended chip shortage. Hyundai Motor on Monday raised its annual revenue and operating profit margin guidance after reporting a 5 percent on-year decline in third-quarter net profit on provisions involving engine-related services. Hyundai Motor will voluntarily recall more than 70,000 vehicles to fix faulty components, the Transport Ministry said on Thursday.
