Virtual private network (VPN) providers will be required to register and preserve user information for at least five years, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology's Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has said in an order that will come into force on June 28 — unless the government delays due to slow down in its compliance.
