Columbia Omni-Heat technology is innovating space exploration

Next week, Intuitive Machines will launch its IM-1 mission, sending the Nova-C lander barreling towards the Moon in what it hopes will be the first successful U.S. Moon landing since the Apollo program. There’s something special about this lander, though. It’s the first to include Columbia’s Omni-Heat technology as an insulating material. Heading into the final days before the launch, I caught up with Columbia’s VP of Innovation, Dr. Haskell Beckham, to talk about this intriguing partnership. Coming full…

Innovating With Nanoporous Model Electrodes

Researchers have developed a groundbreaking model membrane electrode featuring an ordered array of hollow giant carbon nanotubes (gCNTs) within a nanoporous membrane. The novel electrode was constructed by developing a uniform carbon coating technique on anodic aluminum oxide (AAO), resulting in vertically aligned gCNTs with nanopores of various dimensions. This model is designed to minimize contact resistance and enhance understanding of electrochemical behaviors.Scientists have created an innovative model membrane…

What Solana’s Latest Innovating Move Means for Cryptos Like Floki Inu & Big Eyes Coin

Despite how it may seem to those who only started hearing about crypto in recent years, as an industry, it has been around for almost 15 years; since the advent of Bitcoin in 2009. Even then, the idea of a cryptocurrency and attempts to create one go back even further than that, dating back to the early 1980s. As is expected with any concept, what’s innovative at first eventually becomes the norm, with more innovation being necessary to continue its progression. This is exactly what has happened with the crypto market.…

At RE:WIRED Green, We’re Innovating to Fight the Climate Crisis

Today, every issue is a climate issue. It's no longer just higher temperatures, wildfires, and rising sea levels, but issues we previously thought had nothing to do with climate change—like the severity of the seasonal flu or invasive species in our farmlands. The way we prepare for annual hurricane seasons or flooding in certain parts of the world will all have to change. Problems formerly considered purely social or economic are now climate problems, and how we deal with them will resonate for generations. This is…
