NASA’s Juno spacecraft captures mesmerizing image of Jupiter’s moon Io; Know what experts said

NASA has been conducting crucial space missions to explore the wonders of outer space and our solar system. NASA is closely monitoring the Jupiter mission, which has so far made 56 flybys of the planet and has made close flybys of three of its moons. Now, NASA has shared an image of Jupiter's moon Io which was captured during the Juno spacecraft flyby. The image has stunned the viewers with the spacecraft capturing its volcanic state and the image reveals a close look towards the moon's surface. This study and revelation…

AWESOME! NASA will let you engrave your name on the historic Europa Clipper spacecraft for FREE

NASA has several space exploratory missions to planets such as Mars and Jupiter in place, and now the space agency is offering a unique opportunity for the public to have their name etched on a NASA spacecraft bound for Jupiter's moon, Europa. The project, called Message in a Bottle, has been launched in collaboration with the Library of Congress which allows participants to sign their names alongside a poem by US Poet Laureate Ada Limón.Get your names etched on NASA spacecraftBy signing up, your name will be laser…

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day 20 May 2023: STUNNING view of Jupiter’s Moon Europa

Jupiter is the second planet in our solar system with the most number of moons at 95! Among these, the smallest of Jupiter's four Galilean moons is Europa which is the sixth closest to the planet. Europa is said to be about 90 percent the size of Earth's Moon! If we were to replace our Moon with Europa, it would have a similar apparent size in the sky, but it would be significantly brighter, NASA explains. This is because Europa's surface is composed of water ice that reflects approximately 5.5 times more sunlight than…

NASA’s Juno spacecraft to make closest flyby of Jupiter’s volcanic moon, Io

NASA's Juno spacecraft is set to fly by Jupiter's volcanic moon Io followed by a close encounter with the gas giant itself. This upcoming flyby will be the closest to date, with Juno reaching an altitude of approximately 22,060 miles (35,500 kilometres) above Io. The mission, now in its third year of an extended investigation into Jupiter's interior, will also investigate the ring system that houses some of the gas giant's inner moons. Juno has already completed 50 flybys of Jupiter and has collected valuable data during…

Pleiades Neo satellite snaps awesome snapshot of Jupiter, 4 moons

One of Europe's flagship satellites has captured Jupiter and its largest Moon, Ganymede. Jupiter is the fifth planet in the solar system, and it is by far the biggest one. In fact, it is twice as big as all the other planets in our solar system combined. Jupiter is also known as the Gas Giant due to a dense atmosphere of hydrogen and helium with windy clouds of ammonia. It also has the most moons in the solar system, with 92 confirmed moons with orbits, according to International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center.…

First-ever Jupiter mission for ESA, JUICE set to go live today; Check time, how to watch online

In just a few hours from now, the first-ever Jupiter mission for Europe will take off. The mission, which is called the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE), is being led by the European Space Agency (ESA). The spacecraft will study three of Jupiter's Galilean moons — Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa — in search of water and signs of life on them. The spacecraft will take about seven and a half years to reach the gas giant and will begin its exploration in 2031. If you want to know the time of the JUICE mission launch and…

Jupiter’s moons hide giant subsurface oceans

On April 13, 2023, the European Space Agency is scheduled to launch a rocket carrying a spacecraft destined for Jupiter. The Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer – or JUICE – will spend at least three years on Jupiter's moons after it arrives in 2031.In October 2024, NASA is also planning to launch a robotic spacecraft named Europa Clipper to the Jovian moons, highlighting an increased interest in these distant, but fascinating, places in the solar system. I'm a planetary scientist who studies the structure and evolution of solid…

Europe’s Juice Satellite all set to explore Jupiter’s icy moons

The European Space Agency (ESA) has informed that the Juice satellite has just completed its final tests and is all set to explore Jupiter's icy moons. Europe's mission to Jupiter's Moon is all set for its launch in April 2023. The Juice satellite has just completed its final tests. Informing about the same, the European Space Agency (ESA) tweeted, "The countdown to #Juice is on! A commemorative plaque celebrating Galileo's discovery of Jupiter's moons has been unveiled on @ESA_JUICE. Juice has just completed its final

NASA shares spooky shot of Jupiter Moon Io!

NASA has shared a breathtaking image of Jupiter’s Moon Io which actually shows lava flows and lava lakes as bright red spots. Did you know, Jupiter's rocky moon Io is the most volcanically active world in the solar system, with hundreds of volcanoes? NASA has shared a spooky image captured by the Juno spacecraft image of Jupiter's moon Io from 50000 miles away. The image shows the shapes of lava flows and lava lakes as bright red spots. "You can see volcanic hotspots. We've been able to monitor over the course of the
