Konami has confirmed the latest round of its new “club event” competition, with eFootball fans able to represent Arsenal in a global contest. eFootball’s championship club event competition launched at the start of the year, and will see four regional contests take place for each partner club, meaning fans from around the world can take part. “After the 3 online rounds have been completed, all regional winners will congregate for an offline final to decide who will represent each partner club in the World Finals held in…

Operation Galuga is out March 12, demo now – Destructoid

Konami and WayForward’s Contra: Operation Galuga now has a release date. It’s coming to all platforms March 12, 2024. To hold us over, there’s a demo available right now. Contra: Operation Galuga is a retelling of the original 1987 arcade (1988 NES port) narrative that sees Bill Rizer and Lance What’s-his-face storm the Galuga archipelago to take down the Red Falcon organization. This isn’t a remake, however. While references are made to games in the series, everything is remade and modernized.…

Rare Hudson GBA game Ninja Five-O is getting re-released by Limited Run Games

Limited Run Games has announced that they’re going to be re-releasing Hudson’s 2003 Game Boy Advance game, Ninja Five-O, both physically and digitally for Switch, PS4, and PS5. You might be thinking that Ninja Five-O is a quirky early-’00s localization title, but it was never released in Japan despite being developed by Hudson and published by Konami. That’s actually what it’s called, though it was released in Europe as Ninja Cop. It’s an extremely rare GBA game that now commands an impressive price tag on the…

Konami is reviving classic Yu-Gi-Oh! games in a new collection for PC and Switch

Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game franchise has been enjoying a bit of a resurgence on PC following the successful release of the Master Duel title in 2022. Continuing from this success, Konami has now announced Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days, which is a collection of classic franchise entries. More specifically, Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days is coming out to celebrate the IP’s 25th anniversary, and Konami claims it’s bound to “excite nostalgic Duelists across the world.” Now, the vast majority of the collection’s content is still…

Konami interested in porting original ‘Silent Hill’ games

Konami has apparently been approaching studios about porting the original Silent Hill games to current gen consoles. In a new series of video commentaries released alongside Silent Hill: The Short Message, level designer Rika Miyatani explained that Konami first approached Hexadrive about working together. “A few years ago, Konami reached out to us about potentially porting the Silent Hill series,” she explained. “Everyone who was a part of that discussion were big fans of the series. We started talking internally and…

Silent Hill: The Lost Message teases a polarizing series revival

Konami I had some expectations for the Silent Hill series going into PlayStation’s first State of Play of 2024. Chief among those, I assumed we’d finally get a release date for Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2. That didn’t happen, as a newly revealed combat trailer didn’t even drop a hint about when we might see it on PS5. I didn’t leave the showcase empty-handed, though: Konami would surprise-release a whole unannounced Silent Hill game to make up for it. Silent Hill: The Short Message, available for free on PS5 right…

Silent Hill 2 gets all violent in this combat trailer, still no release date

Like a lot of other horror fans, I’m holding out that Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 won’t be a major letdown. While we wait to find that out, however, we can treat ourselves to the new “combat trailer” shown at the most recent State of Play. There are no prizes for guessing what the footage shows. While we get some of the cinematic goodness of the new Silent Hill 2, we also get to see James Sunderland and his guns making friends with enemies. Ha ha! Their heads ago a-splatter!…

A new, free Silent Hill game is available to play right now

Konami We got a new trailer for Bloober Team’s long-awaited Silent Hill 2 remake during today’s PlayStation State of Play stream, which highlighted the horror game’s reworked combat. While it still doesn’t have a release date, publisher Konami did reveal an entirely new spinoff, Silent Hill: The Short Message, which is available now. The announcement trailer for the entirely new Silent Hill game, which is officially available and free of play on the PlayStation 5 as of this exact moment, depicts the series’…

Konami just stealth launched a Silent Hill game

Silent Hill, the town in desperate need of a city council or something, showed up during PlayStation’s State of Play in a big way with two new trailers and a stealth drop of a new, free-to-play game. The first game was the debut of Silent Hill: The Short Message, an all-new entry in the Silent Hill franchise. According to PlayStation’s blog, The Short Message is a short, experimental, free-to-play game meant to introduce newcomers to the joys of that idyllic foggy city. Though the name was only just revealed, details on…

P.T. (sort of) lives on in this Unreal Engine interpretation of Silent Hill 4

Even though Silent Hill is coming back in a big way, many still wonder what could have been with P.T., which Konami pulled the plug on. While we’ll likely never see a Kojima/del Toro horror collaboration set in the titular foggy town, fans will never stop dreaming. In a video uploaded to YouTube (as spotted by DSO Gaming), user Maxim Dorokhov has offered their own interpretation of Silent Hill 4: The Room. That is to say, they’ve recreated the 2004 game entirely in Unreal Engine 5.…
