Google Pixel Notepad: Everything we know about the foldable

The Pixel Fold, or Pixel Notepad as it’s now known, is the name rumored for the foldable coming from Google sometime within the next year. Google has been investing in regular old Android smartphones for a while now with its Pixel phones, but now the company is reportedly gearing up to join the push toward foldables. Google has yet to announce it, but the company appears to be moving in that direction. For example, there’s Android 12L, a version of Android that’s optimized for larger screens and foldables. Google…

The best Google Pixel 6 Pro screen protectors

The Google Pixel 6 Pro finds Google redefining how its smartphones fit within the wider market. No longer content with being kept solely in the “affordable phones with great cameras” bracket, it lays claim to premium features all around. This includes a new Google-made Tensor chip, a big 5,000mAh battery, an eye-watering triple-lens rear camera, and a hugely impressive 6.71-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. As stunning as this display undoubtedly is, you will want to protect it, since even the Corning…

Google Pixel 6 vs. Pixel 6 Pro: What are the differences?

It’s fair to say there are three major players in the flagship phone game at the moment — Apple, Samsung, and Google. While Google’s Pixel range doesn’t have the same mass acceptance as Apple or Samsung, it’s still putting out some exceptional devices that are finding their niche within the market. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the newest flagship devices from the search engine giant, and they’re a big departure from the “flagship-lite” approach taken with the Pixel 5. Loaded down with Google’s new processor…

Pixel 6A case hands-on: More clues about Google’s next phone

It’s not unusual for a phone reviewer to receive a phone case, but yesterday I received a phone case for a phone that doesn’t exist yet. Poetic sent me a case for the Pixel 6A which, allow me to repeat myself, doesn’t officially exist yet. But the case itself suggests a few things about the phone, not the least of which seems to be that it’s coming soon. If I had to put money on it, I’d place my chips squarely on Google I/O. Phone case makers often try to have cases made for popular phones before release. Often cases…

Pixel Buds Pro will be Google’s answer to the AirPods Pro

Like many smartphone vendors, Google sells its own wireless earphones. The $99 Pixel Buds A-Series headphones compete directly against the pricier $129 AirPods. But the company will reportedly launch an even more capable version of the Pixel Buds in the coming months. The Pixel Buds Pro, as they are reportedly called, will be Google’s answer to Apple’s AirPods Pro. Interestingly, Apple is also said to launch a new AirPods Pro model of its own this year. After six years, the AirPods are still the standard that…

Google Pixel foldable display specifications tipped ahead of launch

The Pixel Notepad is rumoured to come with a 5.8-inch outer display, which is wider and shorter than the Galaxy Z Fold4’s expected 6.19-inch display. The two foldables are rumoured to have a similar-sized folding display, but the Pixel Notepad will have a wider aspect ratio than the Fold. This corroborates an earlier leak.Z Fold 4 and Google foldable will have similar sized foldable displays, but the Google cover display will be quite a bit smaller at 5.8″. This should mean it will have a wider aspect ratio than the…

Another Fitbit lawsuit. Pixel Watch can’t get here fast enough

Fitbit has been hit with another lawsuit citing more severe burns as a result of battery failure in its devices. The previous lawsuit had nearly 2 million Fitbit Ionics recalled earlier this year because of 78 reported burns, some of which were second and third-degree. The new lawsuit alleges that it’s not just Ionics that have faulty batteries, but that the “same defect exists throughout all” of Fitbit’s devices. According to the lawsuit first reported by Ars Technica, multiple reports of Fitbits burning their…

Pixel 6 vibration alert woes get a fix with May update

Google is finally fixing the notification haptics system on the Pixel 6 after it started acting erratically following the March update. The company has begun the rollout of the May 2022 software update for its Pixel phones, which is claimed to improve the haptic feedback system on the Pixel 6 and its Pro version. The patch note only mentions “improvements for haptic feedback under certain conditions,” but the footnotes clarify that this particular fix is for the Pixel 6 pair. The official support forum and Reddit…

Insider leaks details about Google’s foldable Pixel Notepad design

After postponing the first Pixel foldable handset last year, Google will reportedly release the Pixel Notepad foldable smartphone in 2022. The device should feature the same design that most foldable handsets deliver. We’re expecting a handset with two displays, including one that folds inwards when the phone is closed. The Pixel Notepad will look like any Galaxy Z Fold model that Samsung has released to date. But according to a new leak from a trusted industry insider, the Pixel foldable might have a better…
