Verstappen Calls F1’s Aston Martin Vantage Safety Car Slow ‘Like a Turtle’

Formula 1 drivers have pretty much always complained that safety cars are too slow, meaning they can't keep temperature in their cars' brakes or tires. This year, though, those complaints may be more valid, as the pace disparity between F1's two safety cars is so great that 2021 champion Max Verstappen compared the slower of the two—the Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition—to one of nature's slowest creatures: The lowly turtle. The reason for Verstappen's complaint becomes eminent on comparison of the Vantage to the…

Tone-deaf Samsung ad reminds us that smartwatch safety isn’t there yet

Samsung is under fire for a recent ad depicting a woman wearing a Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds running alone in the middle of a city at 2AM. Critics have called the ad both “unrealistic” and “tone-deaf” in the wake of the murder of Ashling Murphy, a 23 year old who was killed while running in January in Dublin, Ireland. The ad is oblivious to the dangers of nighttime running, but that makes sense since many smartwatch makers don’t seem to understand how their limited safety features may fail runners. Samsung has…
