Star Wars Battlefront Classics Collection UPDATE – Servers, crashes and high ping | Gaming | Entertainment

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection seemed like an easy win for developer Aspyr Media when it launched earlier this week. Featuring two all-time classic Star Wars games from the early 2000s, the PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch collection felt like a guaranteed hit, provided the servers were up and bugs were kept to a minimum. Unfortunately, however, the launch of Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection didn't quite go to plan. Releasing to mostly negative reviews on Steam, fans complained of a lack of…

‘Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection’ is “a total mess,” says prominent modder

A modder whose work was reportedly used in Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection without their permission has panned the release of the game, calling it “a total mess”. Speaking to IGN, modder iamashaymin said, “The fact they had to release patches both before and immediately after releasing two decade old games really says it all. Especially considering part of the patches is rumoured to have removed content they had already said was removed months ago.” The latter half of that quote refers to the accusation that…

“Critical errors” impacted launch of ‘Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection’

Aspyr has admitted a series of “critical errors” impacted the launch of the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection. Originally announced last month, the Classic Collection brought together the first two Star Wars Battlefront games for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series. Alongside the base games, the package included a number of bonus levels and characters as well as an online multiplayer mode that was advertised as allowing up to 64 players to take…

Star Wars’ Horniest Aliens, Explained

Though far from major players, the Zeltrons of "Star Wars" Legends do make quite a few appearances in a variety of books and comics. Among their ranks is Dani, who pops up in a number of stories as she goes about her thievery and trains under none other than Luke Skywalker. Unfortunately, when the "Star Wars" canon was reset following Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, the Zeltrons didn't immediately reenter. It took three years for the species to do so, and when it did, it was rather different…

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection misses a slam dunk

Aspyr Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection should have been a slam dunk. The new package contains some of the best Star Wars video games ever made, which are all now widely available with multiplayer support across all modern platforms. Star Wars: Battlefront II is my favorite game of all time, so I was ecstatic about its announcement at February’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. It is gratifying to have these two Battlefront games bundled together on a platform like Nintendo Switch, where local co-op or…
