Google recently announced that it will expand support for native PC games on the platform, offering more bespoke PC titles on Google Play Games, in addition to Android games. At its 2024 Google for Games Developer Summit held last week, the company announced that it will bring…

As a parent, I can’t wait for My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery

My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery will be coming to pretty much every platform on May 17 and while it’s definitely out of my usual comfort zone in terms of game choices, I can’t help but be incredibly excited for its release.  Before you judge me, just know that I have a very good reason.  You see, I have a three-year-old little girl who happens to love My Little Pony, but she also desperately wants to join in with every game I play. Whether I’m battling Eikons in Final Fantasy XIV or trying to chop down trees in…

Bungie’s classic Marathon is coming to Steam, for those who don’t enjoy extraction shooters

Depending on how big of a classic Bungie enjoyer you are, you may or may not have been horrified upon learning that the revival of Marathon would be… a live-service extraction shooter. Regardless of whether that turns out well, though, there’s good news, classic Marathon coming to Steam! Do note, however, that this is not an official Bungie effort. Indeed, the Destiny developer isn’t using this as an opportunity to regain community goodwill ahead of The Final Shape‘s release. Instead, we’re looking at an…

Guess what? Steam has, once again, beaten its concurrent player record

This is getting a bit weird now. Two weeks ago, Steam broke its concurrent player record, registering 34.6 million users. One week later, it broke through that number, logging over 35 million players using the platform at the same time. Seven days later, it’s gone and broken the record yet again. According to figures from the third-party website SteamDB, over 36 million concurrent players were using Steam over the weekend. The screenshot posted to Twitter/X shows the exact figure as 36,294,835. However, the most recent…

Once the Thacker Pass mine and processing plant in Humboldt County are online, they will become North America’s largest source of lithium for EV batteries. The Thacker Pass processing plant will produce around 40,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate annually for the use of EV…

Steam debuts Steam Families with new parental controls

Today, Steam launched Steam Families, an overhaul of its family sharing system. The new system gets rid of limits on how many people can play games from one library, makes buying games for your kids easier, and adds new parental controls and sharing options. Before, you needed to use two different systems — Family Sharing and Family View — if you wanted to share your library but limit which games your kids could play. Also under the old approach, only one person at a time could play a game from another’s library. Now — to…

When will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth be on PC?

PlayStation 5 players have been raving about the second part of the FF7 remake project Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. As with the first part, it was made clear well in advance that this game would be a PlayStation exclusive at launch, however, we did eventually get Remake of the first part on PC around a year later. This gives PC players hope that the same treatment will be given to Rebirth, but the big question becomes how long will we have to wait this time? Is it possible to see it come to PC storefronts faster than its…

Google Play Games for Windows will now compete with Steam and Epic

Last updated: March 18th, 2024 at 14:03 UTC+01:00 In 2022, Google launched the Google Play Games application for Windows. It offers a collection of Android games and allows you to download and play them on the operating system. That’s not all though. The marketplace also offers games native to the platform. However, there’s a limited collection of those as Google works with only select partners on that front. Fortunately, that’s going to change soon. At the Games Developer Summit, Google announced that starting “this…

Steam Spring Sale: best deals, how long is the sale, and more

Spring is in the air, which means it’s time to do some Spring cleaning. Thankfully, that doesn’t mean cleaning out your wallet because Steam has launched its seasonal sale event to cut prices on tons of amazing games to some of the lowest we’ve seen. Given how many incredible games were released last year and at the beginning of this year, odds are you have quite a few games on your backlog you’ve yet to get to. Your patience may have paid off if you’ve held out until now. Act fast, though, because this sale won’t…

Playtron: the startup hoping to Steam Deck-ify the world

Handhelds are the future of gaming — but there are reasons the category hasn’t exploded yet. The Nintendo Switch is locked down, Windows can be cumbersome, and Valve’s pick-up-and-play SteamOS hasn’t yet escaped the Steam Deck. What if there were an Android of gaming, an OS you could install on any capable hardware to get a controller-friendly PC experience? Imagine an “Epic Deck” that could actually play Fortnite, a “5G Deck” for cellular carriers, or maybe a “PlayStation Deck” for Sony’s growing PC ambitions.“If Valve…
