Taylor Swift Reacts to Fans Throwing Items in Buenos Aires – The Hollywood Reporter

Taylor Swift has waded into the discussion around fans throwing items at the stage during live performances, telling her Buenos Aires fans that “it really freaks me out” when gifts are hurled on stage.

The “Karma” and “Anti-Hero” singer-songwriter paused during her Sunday night appearance at Argentina’s River Plate Stadium (Estadio River Plate) to ask fans to refrain from throwing items — even if they are gifts — while she and her dancers are performing.

“Because communication means having gentle healthy boundaries, it really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage,” she told the crowd while seated at the piano. “Because if it’s on the stage then a dancer can trip on it.”

Swift, whose message to the packed crowd was shared by a fan updates account, closed out her brief message with her appreciation and a reiteration of her ask. “I love that you brought presents and that is so nice, but just can you please not throw them on the stage?” she said. “I love you so much.”

Swift’s three-day presence in Buenos Aires has garnered a number of headlines, with a report of fans camping in line for five months to be the first to buy tickets to her Argentina Eras tour stops, alongside a slew of snaps featuring Swift and her current partner, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

On Friday, Swift announced she was postponing that night’s concert to Sunday due to intense weather, telling fans on Instagram, “I love a rain show but I’m never going to endanger my fans or my fellow performers and crew.” In response, CNBC reported that LATAM Airlines, the largest airline carrier in South America, wasn’t charging customers date-change fees or differences in fare to stay in the city longer to see the postponed performance.
