TechAdvisor.com Welcomes French Language Edition
Only a couple of months ago I told you TechAdvisor.com had launched its first non-English language edition, as we opened our doors to both English- and Spanish-speaking readers around the world. Today we add a third language to our global domain, with the launch of our French language edition.
If you’re feeling a touch of déjà vu, there may be a reason for that. Tech Advisor was first published in French back in 2017, but previously operated under our techadvisor.fr domain. With its migration to our global Tech Advisor platform, we now aim to cater to French speakers everywhere.
Our new global site, which itself launched only last summer, is testament to our ongoing desire to vastly improve user experience for our readers, now easier – and more enjoyable – to read and to navigate. Having moved our content-management system from our own home-grown platform to WordPress, we are also equipped with new tools to better serve our expanding global readership, plus a central repository for the high-quality content created by our international editors.
Tech Advisor has a rich history, operating since 1995 under its previous handle, PC Advisor. Relatively speaking, its French language edition is still something of a juvenile when compared to some of the consumer tech behemoths out there. But it benefits from Foundry‘s several decades of activity in the sector, and borrows from the experience of its established sister sites PCWorld, Macworld, TechHive – and, of course, from our global Tech Advisor domain.
Headed up by original Editor Marie-Laure Calcar, who is ably assisted by Senior Staff Writer Mathilde Vicente, our French language edition promises its readers the continued delivery of high-quality content that holds their hand through every step of the consumer tech buying journey. We’ll inform you of new and upcoming products, help you find the best tech for your needs – and at the best prices – and then provide advice on accessories, tips and tricks for getting the most out of your new gear, plus troubleshooting.
For those of you who don’t speak French, it’s not about to start popping up in your news feed. Whether you see the English, French or Spanish edition will depend on where in the world you are located. If you’re interested to have a peek, you can toggle between all three using the Menu button at the top of page, or by directing your browser to our French or Spanish editions.
We’ve tried to make this migration as smooth as possible, but if you do catch any bugs please chuck them over to myself or Tech Advisor’s Executive Editor Jim Martin.
