Tesla recalling 130,000 vehicles in US
Tesla is recalling about 130,000 vehicles in the United States due to an overheating issue that may cause the centre touchscreen display to malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) told Reuters on Tuesday.
The recall covers the S and X models from 2021 and 2022 model years and the 2022 3 and Y.
The automaker will provide an over the air (OTA) software update to resolve the issue, according to the NHTSA.
Infotainment system CPU overheating could prevent the centre screen from displaying images from the rearview camera, warning lights and other information, NHTSA told the news agency.
Tesla in turn told NHTSA it was aware of 59 warranty claims and 59 field reports received since January which might be related to the issue but there were no reports of crashes or injuries.
