A few days after rebranding the platform from Twitter to X, the company has now brought the change to the Android app. The changes – wherein the blue bird logo was changed to the new black and white letter “X” – were first rolled out to Twitter on the web.

When users search for “Twitter” on the Google Play Store, the platform will return results for “X”. The app’s description has also been changed. “Breaking news, entertainment, sports, politics and everything in-between! The X app is the trusted digital town square for everyone,” the description now reads.

The description also says that users will be able to “upload and watch videos up to 3 hours in length” but the Twitter Blue support page still keeps that number to up to 2 hours long.

The screenshots posted by the developer (X Corp.) now reflect the new branding and the X logo on the top of the screen. At the time of writing, members of The Times of India-Gadgets Now team can see the change in the Play Store but haven’t got the UI changes on the app. Furthermore, there are no changes on the app for iPhones, and the App Store listing still shows the old Twitter icon.

No changes on Twitter Lite app
Twitter also launched “Twitter Lite” which provides a similar experience with less user data. It is to be noted that there is no change in the app name and icon, however, the developer name has been changed to X Corp. This app was last updated in May 2021.

“Or they can just pay $1000/month for a verified organisation subscription with the ability to convey that organisational authority to affiliates. This more than pays for itself in organic reach,” Musk said in a response to the report.

Starting August 7, brands that don’t meet the new advertising criteria will lose their verification, The Verge reported (via The Wall Street Journal).

“The reason for the $1000/month is to set a moderately high bar to be a verified org, so that an org must be of non-trivial size to qualify and to make it expensive for scammers to create millions of accounts,” the owner said.
