UFO spotted in Las Vegas or just a meteor?

0 426

A green flash light observed on April 30 by, among others, a Las Vegas police officer was just a bright meteor less than a meter in size and certainly not a UFO having aliens visiting earth that fell in anyone’s backyard, Jerusalem Post reported citing US media outlets.

The report said the claims of aliens sightings that came with the flash of light have yet to be explained.

The green flash light in question was spotted on April 30, when a Las Vegas family claimed that they saw “non-human creatures” after a mysterious crash in their backyard followed by a green flash light in the sky. The family soon made a 911 call, following which the cops rushed to the spot to investigate.

The family told the dispatcher that large creatures were in his backyard. “They’re not human. 100 percent they’re not human,” the caller told the 911 dispatcher in an audio recording. “I swear to god it’s not a joke. It’s actually real,” Fox News had reported.

“We just see in the corner of our eye something fall down from the sky, and it was with lights, and when it hit down there was like a big impact, and we felt like an energy? And then we hear a lot of footsteps near us. And then – we have, like, big- big equipment, and we see there’s a, there’s like an eight-foot person beside it and another one’s inside, and it has big eyes and it’s looking at us” the caller added.

The man specifically told the 911 dispatcher that “It has big eyes and it’s looking at us.”

Notably, police officers who went to the scene were met by others who said they saw the same thing, as noted in police footage shared online.

“The green fireball observed was likely a bright meteor less than a meter in size, certainly not a UFO, reported Vice Media’s Motherboard outlet citing NASA’s planetary defense officer, Lindley Johnson.

NASA, however, had no mention of the incident at all.

Johnson explains there is a reason for that. He said NASA’s Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) database includes only reports of objects that are one meter in size or more as those objects are large enough to be considered asteroids rather than meteors.

Meteors

Meteoroids are objects in space that range in size from dust grains to small asteroids. When they occasionally enter the Earth’s atmosphere at a very high speed resulting in large fireballs, they release a flash of light called “shooting star.” Sometimes they can even be seen during the day.

In April, one such meteor actually hit the Earth and exploded in Israel, with a bright fireball visible during the day.

Have aliens come to Earth?

But if the flash of light was just a meteor as claimed by the NASA official Johnson then the April 30 incident raises the question: What did land at the backyard of Las Vegas family.

The Las Vegas police found the witnesses’ testimonies credible and said it likely wasn’t a hoax.

So did a UFO land? Were alien life forms now walking through Las Vegas?

The Las Vegas police said they didn’t find aliens in a manhunt after the UFO crash report, but they do hope to do so in the future, citing the city’s proximity to Area 51.
