2022 Maruti Suzuki Eeco reaches dealerships; First video of the updated cabin
Maruti Suzuki has introduced a midlife update to its high-selling entry-level van, Eeco. The new Maruti Suzuki Eeco now gets an updated interior with a couple of new features and an all-new powertrain replacing the old-generation G-Series engine. The price for the updated version of Maruti Eeco starts at Rs 5.10 lakh, ex-showroom.
The new Eeco, like before, continues to be available in the same trim level, including 5-seater, 7-seater and 5-seater AC, all of which get CNG powertrain options as well. The prices for the new Maruti Suzuki Eeco now start at Rs 5.10 lakh, almost Rs 50,000 dearer than the outgoing version.

Talking about the updates in the new Maruti Suzuki Eeco, the van now gets an all-new fully digital instrument console, which has been shared with that of the S-Presso. This minimalist console gets digital readouts for speed, fuel level, odometer and trip meters. The new three-spoke steering wheel is also new, which looks the same as that of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
The centre console has been revised and now gets restyled AC vents, new switches for the AC controls, repositioned parking lamp switch and new housing in the lower part, which serves as a provision for an infotainment system. Between the seats, there is also a new panel, which serves as a platform for holding your phones. The new Eeco also gets an engine immobilizer and a new exterior paint shade option of Cerulean Blue, which replaces the erstwhile Metallic Brisk Blue.
New updated engine
Maruti Suzuki has replaced the old-generation 1.2-litre four-cylinder G-Series engine of the previous iteration of the Eeco ahead of the implementation of new stricter emission norms. Instead, the new Eeco gets the same 1.2-litre K-Series Dualjet engine from the likes of Swift, Dzire and Baleno.
Here in the Eeco, this 1.2-litre petrol engine has been tuned to deliver 81 bhp of maximum power and 104.4 Nm of maximum torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox continues to be the sole transmission on offer. In the CNG-powered variants, the same engine produces 72 bhp of maximum power and 95 Nm of maximum torque.
The new Eeco claims 19.71 km/l of fuel efficiency, significantly more than the 16.11 km/l fuel efficiency of the previous-generation G-Series engine. In the CNG mode, it claims a fuel efficiency of 26.78 km/kg, more than 20.88 km/kg of the previous iteration of Eeco CNG.
Currently, there are no direct rivals to the Maruti Suzuki Eeco in the entry-level van category. With the discontinuation of the Datsun Go+, the next seven-seater positioned above the Maruti Suzuki Eeco is Renault Triber.
